The Cowboy offensive line was as good a matchup as the NY defensive line could face and the Giants responded by adding more blitzes to disrupt Romo. They won't need to do so much of that against the Pack's O-line. With the GB passing game disrupted and the defenders behind the line able to flow as needed to stop the running game, I'm not expecting a whole lot of points out of Green Bay.
On O is where the Giants could lose it though. The Packer D is severely underrated. Everyone looks at Favre and marvels but the young defenders, keyed by outstanding play at LB, will gobble up mistakes. Can GB stop the 1st down running game and force Manning to pass in unfavorable down/distance situations enough times that he winds up committing errors? If the Pack is to win, it will be by forcing the Giants into more turnovers and limiting possessions to as few downs as possible to compensate for what the Giant D is going to do to the GB offense.
If it's cold in GB it's no biggie. NYC is a chilly winter place as well. The "frozen tundra" rarely freezes since there are heating elements underneath the field. Crowd noise is a factor if the Giant O-line implodes with false starts like they did at Seattle a couple seasons ago, when NY got hit for a dozen flags on that penalty alone. If the Giants don't screw up on that front in the 1st quarter, then they're good to go in regards to those kinds of penalties. However, if they get 2 or 3 flags for false starts early on, the situation will devolve over the course of the game for them.
Eli Manning does not need to have a stats god game to have a good game. The win over Tampa Bay showed a great QB rating and fine game management when Eli didn't have a monster game. Favre on the other hand does need the monster stats game since the GB offense is set up by the passing attack to open up running lanes. The Giants excel in pass rushing and thus the most critical matchup is set in place.
The Giants' loss to the Pats did make NY elevate their game and they have kept it elevated in the last two playoff games. They will make it 3 in a row in terms of playing well and continue that trend in what should be a rematch in the Super Bowl with New England is the call here.
The Giants are my pick to win the game.
