capturing streaming movies

On TV or PC?

What I do for my BrightHouse Digital cable is run an A/V out from my HD-DVR to a DVD recorder, then in the menu for the DVR, select copy-to-vcr(buts it actually DVD) and then viola...ripped to DVD.

there are several programs out there that will allow you to capture whatever is on your screen and then save it to a video format. i used to have one, but i cannot seem to find the program anymore since it was lost after the last format

thanks, here'smy dilema........ i got some audiobooks from the carnegie library. but i can only seem to listen to them on my laptop and not my mp3 player. i looked for programs that can convert the books from protected to unprotected mp3's, but i been unsuccessful.

so i figured that i can just play them using winamp or windows media player and using the streaming software to record them and then put it on my mp3 player. good idea??
