PAC TR-7 with Alpine IVA-W505

I know there's a million threads on this, but I still don't see the answers I'm looking for. I just got a W505 professionally installed in my 07 Tahoe yesterday, but now I want to do the bypass. The only problem is I don't understand all the chassis and grounding stuff. So a few questions:

1. Do I need to take out the HU

2. If so, how do I take out the HU

3. The guy at Custom Sounds said he couldn't bypass because it's illegal, so I take it you

cant have it done professionally?

take out HU and read the instructions that come with the tr7

if you cant take it out, then i doubt your intelligent enough to install the bypass.. nothing personal just an observation b/c the directions are as simple as it gets

if you have some extra $$$ to throw down, go back to the shop, tell the guy you'll pay him to come do it for you in his spare time.

no i know its simple once you get the HU out, i just dont want to mess anything up, I haven't even ordered the PAC TR-7 yet, basically all I want to know is how do I take an Alpine IVA-W505 out?

I put the pac7 in my 08 tahoe, very easy install, remove the wood trim with a plastic tool, and take the bolts off underneath of it... and thats it... be careful its very veryyyyyyy tight back there...

edit: there is clips underneath the wood trim dont be afraid, but dont use to much force, the clips are very difficult to take out..

well i tried taking off the wood trim, i pulled pretty hard but it wouldnt come off, i thought i was going to break it, do you really need to pull that hard?

your gonna have to pull trim pieces , order your pac tr-7 first then worry about it

you also may be able to use keys to remove it depending on how its installed

do yourself and your car a favor... go to the shop and like someone already said... pay one of the installers to do it "off the books" on his own time.
