Pac steering wheel help

So I'm installing a pioneer 2700bs into my 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer evo. I've finally decided to add the pac swi-rc to the darn thing to regain steering wheel control. I'm confused as to what **** plug to attach my white wire to... It gives a diagram but after attaching it to what I assumed was the correct wire I got no programming ability. The blue wire I attached it to on the oem plug does not have a corresponding wire in my pioneer plug.. Anybody have any clues? Could it just be a bad connection on my part?

Thanks

i'll start by saying all of my installers several years ago asked me to stop carrying the PAC SWI and only carry the metra ASWC-1, they are far easier to install and they auto learn the functions. as to the SWI, did you also connect pin 2 of the vehicle harness to chassis ground?
