Would 520 WRMS power be enough for a 12" power acoustik MOFO? My firend wants to get 2 of them and put them in sealed boxes with 520wrms to each. This would be about half thier rated power, but would it be enough to be louder than his current setup of 2 volfenhaugen red 12's w/ 260wrms to each sub and sealed? Also, can the MOFO's be in sealed boxes? Or is ported better? any expireence with these subs?

i got a little experience with them.

I would tell your friend not to even bother unless he gets a bigger amp. The MOFO's are a power hungry hogs and if you do not give them close to there reccommend power they won't even move.

Mofos will work in sealed applications but perform alot better in ported.

i personally have had no experience underpowering my mofo unless i feel bored one day and try out my 300w rms Bazooka amp.

520 RMS will move them, but it won't do them justice, I would not reccomend putting them in a sealed enclosure, they'll sound like !@#$ and ultimately they'll entually fall apart since they need plenty of breathing room, it even says on the MOFO spec sheets that a sealed box is N/A, and (just about) anything will sound better than your friends volfenhags //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
