Alright.. So I'm setting my amp to put out 1600 watts at 1ohm.. So that would mean 40v..

I set the gain until the meter reads 40v. The amp supposedly does 1700rms.. So I'm curious what does this mean? Does this mean the amp actually does rated power? Or what...

the A3000db?

i used to have 2, they dont do rated power, but they still do good power, and i ran them at .7ohms daily for a long time, never had 1 problem, for the money they are nice

but i doubt they did rated power

1 thing is the fusing on them, i think 180amps your supposed to put on there, so some where around 1800-2000rms give or take

no, just because it says 40v dosent mean its doing it cleanly, could be high distortion and clipping bad, need a clamp meter to properly do it

edit: dang everyone beat me

i stick with they are some great amps for the money

Yep. I seen a thread on termpro a while back and someone benched it at around 2100rms. I have also seen a birthsheet on a Planet Audio vx2200d, which is the same amp internally, rated at 2253rms @1ohm on 13.0v

180 x 14.0 = 2520 Given its a class d we'll take 80% efficiency 2520 x .80 = 2016

Been running mine for a while now too, with no problems.
