if i turn loud on at low volumes my mid lacks, but when i turn it up 40+ the mid comes back to life

if i have the volume at 55 and i turn loud on and off you can't really hear any difference... what about you all? do you leave loud on or off?

oh yeah btw... what does everyone set their gains at? i used volume 50 with a 45hz tone at 0 db right now i have the gain at a little bit more than half on the orion

I keep my loud on. But that don't sound to safe to have your HU up to 55 and then switch the loud setting on and off. I would be kinda scared I might blow something. But I guess if yours does'nt have any effect on the loudness of your system by turning it on/off there maybe a problem there.

I test one on an oscope with a 0dB 1kHz tone. set gain using volume 61/62.

alot of decks the loudness turns off at higher volumes. thats a nice feature because you dont need loudness but at lower volumes. I had the loudness on with mine.

I use the loud option when i listen to am/fm stations and turn it off when using cds. It's just how i do it.

I don't use loud at all, nor do I use BBE. I do use comp 1 and BMX 1. The guy who said set gains at 61, he is right on. As far as the midbass stuff, I notice the same thing on mine, I attributed it to not enough power on my Pro60's, but it seems to be the deck itself after trying many different power levels. It's not a bad thing, it just reproduces very accurately at lower volumes and midbass seems to show it the most. My older cheaper deck had midbass at lower volumes, but I could tell it was because the processing was modified, ie: "loud" button.

BTW, imo loud button SUCKS!
