P880prs issues...

First of all, I just installed the 880 and my first impressions are great (pics to come later). The build quality is amazing, the knobs have a very high quality feel to them, the screen is awesome, and the SQ seems to be very good with my limited exposure. That being said, I am having some trouble figuring out the "multi control" feature. It seems that almost every feature of the deck is supposed to be able to be controlled through this knob (so says the manual), but there are many functions that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to access. Two things that come to mind (among many others) are how to change the background color from white to blue (or vice versa), and how to change the clock. I have looked all of this up in the manual and am usually a pretty technical person, but I just can't seem to figure out how to access a lot of the features that I'm supposed to be getting with this HU. Anyways, if any one else has an 880 and can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise I am more than pleased, and I got it for a great price ($330 shipped off Ebay). i just installed mine yesterday and i dont know how to do anything but put a cd in and up the volume. thing is confusing as hell.

the manual sucks i dont understand half the shit it says i been trying to figure out how to auto tune and i cant even do that

my GUESS is that both those features are going to be accessed with the ignition off... for the clock, you're going to want to hold down function, or the multi button or something like that, as for white/blue maybe hit one of the numbers 1-6...

I've never touched that unit in life, just expreience with pioneers

Unfortunately, all of this has been done with the ignition off and on, and there are no preset buttons. Just the volume on the left and the multi control on the right.

did you try pressing both buttons in and holding for a few seconds? either or, not both at the same time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

on the 780 you press and hold the source button till it turns off, then press and hold the multi nob till you get another menu..it has like the clock and some other shit. try that.

Yep, thats what it was. After reading the manual VERY carefully, I figured out that there is an initial settings menu that is accessed as above. On another subject, I could have sworn I saw a pic of someone's 880 that had blue OEL instead of white. I know you can change the background illumination on both knobs, but I don't see anywhere to change the color of the OEL. Probably not possible, but I thought I saw someone who had done it.

Another potentially stupid question: Is there any way to stop the cd from auto ejecting when you open the face to take it out? I just want to leave the cd in there for the next time I get in the car, but it automatically pops out and I have to push it back in after I take the face off. Maybe a minor nuisance, but I still would like to stop this from happening.

Hold down the eject button for like 5 seconds and it will open and leave the cd in. Its in the manual on page 9
Sweet thanks I'll try that. I think the manual is just poorly written and somewhat illogical in the way it explains things so maybe I missed a few things just because they weren't very straightforward.
