I just recently installed a set of diamond audio cm3 subs with a jvc head unit and a power acoustik a3000db amp...I picked the amp because it was cheap and I think I might be paying the price for that...anyhow the problem that Im running into is that every time I turn on/off the head unit, change the track, or eject a cd I am disturbed with a loud popping noise, pushing my subs out hard! Also the amp stays on after the car is shut off and makes a wierd humming noise...and If I put a ground wire to the chassis of the amp is pops my subs...the power eventually goes out, but after some time...I can get it to go off permanantly by either removing the remote wire or the rca's, either or, and when I reconnect either one the power stays off. The stereo pounds otherwise and I cant complain about that, yet the popping has to go. So I know what you are all thinking you've got it pegged, but here's what I have done to try to fix the problem. I started with making sure the main power wire to the amp wasn't shorting on the chassis of the amp double and triple checked no problem there...next I regrounded the amp with the cleanest tightest ground I could find, and short too, just to make sure I measured the resistance of the ground wire and came up with .3 ohms. So then I pulled stinger cap and bypassed it to see it that would fix it but no...then I switched the remote wire from the amp turn on to the remote power and still didnt fix it. Then I grounded the HU to another location. Just to make sure I checked to see if the remote wire has 12v when I turn the head unit off, sure enough it kills when the HU is turned off. So then I took one of my old HU out of the garage and hooked it up...same problem...so then I took the rca's from my 6x9 amp and swapped them to the sub amp...same problem. I also reran another set of rca's no luck. I am using 2 gauge wire throughout. Im going to pull my **** hair out!!! any ideas guys??? Other than replace the amp?
