oz me 12 WEAK!!

Play with your settings. You may also find that your box design isn't working out. Try a normal mount and see if you like it. Otherwise, maybe some more power is needed?

go play a 20hz tone in your sealed box, then have any of your louder friends with crappy 12's in ported boxes do the same. You SHOULD have a flatter, wider response(sp) with a sealed enclosure, the sacrifice was volume.

An analogy between sealed andported is like screaming with your mouth closed.

(screaming doesn't sound as good as humming though)

That box is wayy too small for an ME in my opinion. Go with like 1.5 cu ft and let that sub breathe.

Of course sealed will be much less loud than a ported box.

EDIT: BTW... after checking your other thread about making the box. If your dimensions are correct and they are 13.5 x 34.5 x 4, you aren't even getting 1 cu ft NET. If you are lucky you are getting around .7 cu ft for that sub. Its not even close to enough for it to breathe. When I called up Oz for them to recommend an enclosure, he told me if I really want it to shine... 1.5 cu ft NET was optimal. You have about half that.

Sorry dave, but you're dumb.
1. shut up ur the one dumb for calling me dumb without knowing shit, u got a big mouth on the net i bet u wouldnt say shit like that in person

2. my box dimensions are spot on at 1 cubic ft which oz reccomends

(34.5 x 13.5 x 4) / 1728 = 1.078 cubic ft

how is that 0.7 cubes?

3. i have 1000 rms to work with, that is plenty for this sub (its rated at 700rms)

4. yes i know sealed isnt as loud as ported but this is just crap because you guys need to hear the difference, when i say not even half as loud i mean probably like a third

the ported box is approx 2.5 net @ 32 hz which i also built myself

now anyone else... got any input? is it really soppose to be liek 1/3rd the loudness of my ported box?

what could be wrong? (everything is the same as when i had it in the ported box, except since its inverse mounted i have to reverse the polarity of the sub, but in any case that still should not make a difference in how loud it is)

i also double checked all my deck and amp settings and wiring

2 crappy 12's still have more surface area so they will be louder. Your OZ ME ported w/1000w against 2 crappy 12's sealed, no question the OZ should be louder. Those subs are rated very conservative and with such a small sealed box you will need closer to 1500 to make them sound anywhere close to what you want. I have ran ME's in various enclosures and they get VERY loud. But if you are only running 1 on a thousand watts in a real small sealed enclosure and expecting it to be louder than 2.................................maybe you are dumb //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
