I have pretty much narrowed my next set of components down to these two. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with both sets? If so can you give your opinion on the detail of the midrange and tweeters in respect to both sets?

Thanks

I havn't heard the polks but I hear they are excellent on reviews. But I have heard and own the oz's. The mids are awesome. Excellent response. Tight punchy bass and the tweets are pretty nice. Havn't been able to test it against any high end tweets but it works for me. But either way you should be satisfied with either set.

Used to own the OZ's and let me tell you. They are very smooth tweeters. Actually some would say too smooth. It get loud and will never fatigue your ears //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The mids give brilliant mid range performance. Honestly both have pretty "silky" tweeters but the OZ's are just a step up in performance comparing to the polk's. I think the SR's would be more comparable to the OZ's

Well I called their customer relations line and the woman stated they would be adding a 3-way component set to the matrix line. I beleive she said all cone and tweeter materials would remain the same, but looking at there website they appear to be different??? Guess Ill just have to wait.

I've had two separate installers remark that the newer 180s are not as good as the prior version (they changed the cone material) from a year or two ago. But they said the older version was fantastic.

I don't know, I saw something recently that indicated that Oz was going to change the 180 cs -- for the first time in a decade. Not saying you are wrong, but that is what Oz said -- wish I could find that again.
