output of an orion at .5ohms

wat did u jsut say?
i know that the numbers are usually not fully accurate but will it put out more then the 1ohm rating?
Of course it will be more power than with 1 ohm, there is less resistance. The actual number your sub will see will not exceed its rated power, however. But if you were to have it benched then it would do the numbers you are thinking.

And if you are this unexperienced, you might not want to run the amp at .5 ohms because you run a high risk of damaging your equipment if you do not know what you are doing.

i learn fast and have learned more about this in the past 2 days talking with forum members, im not gonna run .5 to begin with, but after i upgrade my electrical system and feel i'm ready i will rewire the subs to run .5

but thanks for the concern

And by the way, to do this properly you should get yourself an o-scope, or at least find access to one. Since you will be running it at an unrated impedance you can never be sure when it will begin to clip...
thanks for the advice i will make a note of that

Also the amp will draw more current than at 1ohm because it's belowe the raited impedance and will drive it harder. I would say if you did not have any box rise you might get 3 out of it.

depends on voltage and box rise...no way to tell...
Why do people hear this once and latch on to it?? He's asking the power that he'll get FROM THE AMP! He doesn't care about box rise and all that crap. STOP OVER ANALYZING!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

The amps power is directly proportionate to the impedance...and impedance fluctuates...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
