i would upgrade to XP just because you don't want to be left in the past... i think a new windows is coming out sometime soon, maybe? i don't remember where i heard that. either way, i think upgrading to 2000 would be waste since it is pretty old.

Vista will still be a bit. I also like to wait until the first service pack is out before adopting the newest Windows OS. If you aren't in to Multimedia(games,video,music, etc) on your PC then Win2000 will serve your pupose for many years to come.

BTW Win98SE is not the most stable. It is a POS that uses a shitty core. NT kernels are much more robust and stable. Win2000 is the most stable, with XP Pro following on it.

yea, win2k is the most stable. and as jack said linux is a great os, a lot more user-interfaceable lol. if i was you i would either stick with 98 or go win2k xp needs to be tweaked to run good.
