orion hcca-d5000 question

i got an orion hcca-d5000 amplifer and it clips if i go higher than volume 8. i have two kicker 12" l7 solobarics wired down to 2 ohm a piece. any ideas whats causing it?

do you have both +'s and -'s in or just one each?

i have 0 gauge runnings to my distrubution block then 2x 4 guage wire running into the amp.

I use to have one of these amps. How do you know it clips? Is it audible or are you using a Scope/DMM?

Also what kind of HU do you have.

i have an alpine iva-w200

i can tell its clipping because my subs just shut off but if i turn the car off then turn it back on its okay... till i turn the volume back up

So when the subs turn off, the amp turns aff as well right?

I think you wired them wrong and have it running @.5 ohm

well i havent checked to see if the amp shuts off. but i ran the meter on the subs and there both runnings at 2ohm each. there ran together into one channel but not bridged
