orion hcca 225

What type of capabilities are you looking for?

Specs?

Power Output?

Ohm Stability?

The orioncaraudio website has archived information with full specifications and system hookups.

The 225 HCCA is the most winningest amp in IASCA history. A 25 watt per channel amp that is capable of generating 400W - 500W mono with a 1 ohm load. You can literally back a semi over them and they will perform to spec. Made with mil-spec PCB's, 1% tolerance parts, in the USA. Not anymore though.

I like the 3rd generation pop-top version the best, they went downhill from there on.

For everyday use those old "cheater" amps are kinda pointless.

Too low in output unless you run them at really low ohms, then at really low ohms they **** more current than a hooker at a convention.

Might just as well buy a regular old school amp that does higher output at a normal 4ohms and save the expense of maybe needing to upgrade the vehicle's electrical system.

I agree with Rich B unless you are going to use the 225 HCCA at 1 ohm running subwoofers, and you have a stout electrical system it is pointless unless you have an 250SX/XTR or 275SX/XTR to run the front stage along with it. Been down that road before. Great amps if used for the purpose they were designed for.
