whats a good used price on one of these things.... got a guy wanting to trade me one for my HTC Inspire and a little cash.

sub is in good shape.. from pics so far... will actually get to see it tomorrow at work and mess with it to make sure no rub or anything else on it.

something new to mess around with? something to throw in the car beside the skar 12 I have now? other than that ehhh.... i've heard they get loud an its not like I paid anything for the phone got it free when my other phone messed up through att... and now i've got the galaxy s2... so the phone and maybe 30-50$ for the sub... give me reasons as to not want one? lol.... just into trying diff. subs out and stuff i guess mainly

They are very much spl subs. That being said they are terribly inefficient and need a lot of power to get moving. For instance 1k will barely make it move. If you strap 2-3k on it you can expect 4+ inches of peak to peak travel. It has the potential to sound decent when underpowered. I tried several different enclosures for mine and found a sweet spot at about 2.5 cubes @29hz with around 40 inches of port area. That being said as soon as you throw 2k + at it all sq goes completely out the window. when in a low tuned box tho these things HAMMER the lows I mean some of the best low end I have ever experienced and I've never had it bottom out even on 3k. The hcca gets a bad rep because they are very hard to get to sound good. They are designed with big coils and A lot of motor force for spl and that's what they do best. I've made around 10 enclosures and have only just now got it to sound OK. if your looking for a daily beater and have 1k or less to play with its probably not very practical. But if you have an electrical to support 2k+ and want something that is comparable to a DD Z, warden, fi btl etc... In output then it's a great sub that not many people have. I'm a tc sounds guy tho so I'm much more attached to my old school hcca lol

They're terrible subs. I've had a pair of the 15's and was not impressed with either their numbers on the termlab or build quality. But if you're essentially getting it for free, wall socket that motherfucker.

If that is the guy that had the alpine also @ lafayette those subs have rub marks, paint is chipped off, he was wanting my iphone 4s and i told him yeah if he gives me 150 also, its worth about 150 cash maybe
