Orion HCCA 12.2 Box help!

I just recently bought a Hcca 12.2 and am trying to build a box for it and have a few questions.

1: 1 inch mdf was reccomended for this woofer but i couldnt find it at common retailers. Will 3/4 be ok for sides and a 1.5 inch baffle?

2: Orion reccomends a square port. Is there any benefit to a a square vs a slot port?

3: Orion reccomends a 38 hz tuning. I play mostly rap. Should i tune lower to like 35 hz perhaps?

4: My working dimensions are H=20 W = 40 D =15
