Orion, Crossfire, MA Audio

Ive been thinking of changing amps for my spl competition year. I have posted earlier on a good amp that puts out its true ratings. People have recomended Orion's 2500D, Crossfire's vr200d, and SonicFX (web site sucks)which isnt even out yet. I talked to some people with tons of SPL experience and they mentioned MA Audio. They mentioned 2 different amps 1) HK 802SX 2)HK 4000D bot from MA Audio. 4 out of the 6 people I talked to, suggested the HK 802SX for my application. What are your opinions???

I have 2 12" dual 1ohm subs

wiring can be in 1 channel 4ohm, 1ohm, .25ohm

Well I went from a pair of MA HK1997's to a MA 602sx, pair of them, to a MA 4000D, and now I ended up with a pair of orion2500D's. I'm happy with the orions, and am planning on getting two more. But the 602's and 4000D were mean amps, just drew hella amounts of power!

If you have 14.4v, you can get close to 4000w at 1 ohm, if not that number

I believe the HK series needs 17v to make full power, not sure though.

Only listened to the Anaba stuff out of that group, which if you could properly feed is not half bad at all. However, with Sonic FX being in such close ties with IA, I would definitely recommend the Sonic FX amp out of all of them.

And can take 20v out of the box, according to a rep I spoke to.

Better get a big electrical. the VR2000d can draw close to 300 amps

My friend got the MA 4000D for $399 from Sell2All (ebay seller) and picked it up here locally (Lincoln Ne warehouse) and he ran it on a pair of L7 12's (fed them both 1000 watts) until it broke on him. I wouldn't recommend MA anything to anyone I've talked to too many people who had problems with their stuff. I'd recommend JBL 2200.1 or the Orion possibiliy. Or if you really got some $$$ that huge JBL Crown.

i would say the SFX amp, but u say u need it by tuesday

If u read the thread i posted up, its for the pre-order discount... amps will be ready in ~2weeks. Keeping the wait in mind, it fits ur application perfectly. You can run it @1ohm daily then for comps wire it down to .25ohm (probly ~3kw). And it is also strappable if u decide u want another //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

now if u need something immidiatly i would go with the xfire, always had nice amps

Of the choices, go with the 2000d. You have to wait for the SFX, and if you dont have 17v, you wont get full potential from the HK.

Youll love it the crossfire.
