Orion AMP NO Power HELP PLEASE !!

Hi Guys i have an orion hcca-D2400 amp and a Orion HCCA 12.2" Sub.

The connector on the side of the box had melted so i needed to replace it so i took the sub out and the connector on the side and I re-wired the sub myself and put back into box i will have a picture following to show how i have wired it.

I connected it all back up to my amp and all was well, occasionally in the past and after i done this my sub would cut out for a split second. This happened a few days ago and as it happened it never came back in. So ive taken a look to see whats happened and cant see anything wrong with wiring no loose cables or anything behind stereo or on amp and all fuses are intact on amp and under bonnet. But my Amp has got no power whatsoever no L.E.D's lighting up or anything.

Any help would be great i will upload photos of my amp and how my sub is wired sorry the sub one was done in paint as its really hard to take out of box due to it weighing ton!

Thanks Billy

What is the load on the voice coils of the subwoofer, or if you know what load did you have it wired at on the amplifer? Also have you taken a metter to the power and made sure the amp wires are feeding 12 volts into the amplifier? If all of your wires have the right voltage and the subwoofer isnt wired at some dangerously low resistance, than best I can figure your amp over heated, hard to say without a little more info

Erm I dont know what load the voice coils was and im not sure about the resistance either how would i go about finding that out? but it is running 12volts.

OK great! now you know that the power getting to the amp isnt the problem. BTW, electrical lingo, load and resistance are the same thing. Load is just a more appropriate term when using AC voltage than resistance. The best way to find out, outside of pulling it out of the box and looking on the magnet, get a DMM and disconnect the speaker from the amp, put the DMM on the ohm symbol and put the red lead on the pos and the black lead on the neg. Hopefully it will read 2 or 4 ohms, if not let me know. If it does, next step is to bench test it.
