Orion 2500D VS IA 20.1 here...results..

Non taken. Yes, I have hooked one up, and burped it at .175 before. That is the lowest I have gone with one.
Whats subs?

and you have comparitive results against it @.35/.25?

seems like everything thing u have put in this thread is run the amp @.175, and he has said a couple times his plan is to do so... yet u still tell him to run it @.175 over and over again

yea, sounds good. juss curious can the IA play music at that low of a load. the lowest ive took the orion is .5ohm daily.
We did .175 for burps, and I highly doubt it would work for playing music that low. Feel free to ask Nick at IA, if you want specifics on power output at that load, since I didn't have any way of measuring how much power it was putting out.

I had the orions strapped @ .4 ohms to test it out...it burps fine with no problems but after about 10 seconds on music it goes in and out of protection....low voltage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i need more battery juice! but yeah i havent given up on them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i'm just getting started playing with em. After I get some more batteries we'll see how .4 strapped does daily.

I'm also going to test 1 @ .4 against 2 @ .8 see what the difference is.

voltage is your biggest problem..

my 20.1 will draw 320 amps of power @ 12 volts.. das alot of juice...

and as stated... lower impedence will be your friend..

also... adjust the phase shift and xover to their sweet spots.. consult my post on the 20.1 thread in tp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

20.1 will run at .35 nominal until you're tired of listening to it..

considering your box design... I'd betcha actual impedence is way up there..

on a 12v system.. my 20.1 would burp with 16 RE 8" svc 1.8 ohm dcr subs in parallel...

das .1125 nominal for you guys too lazy to do the math //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My 20.1 loved .35ohms daily... every minute of it. Never even got hot.

thanks Loyd //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'll give that a try today.

and as far as impedence rise...No clue, haven't figured that one out yet :-\

Get it LOUD Joe //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif see you at da grove!

I set the k-factor to the one that is stickered on the sensor.
yeah thats pretty strange, id purchase another cat5 cable just to make sure that isnt the problem. Or contact wayne harris. the cat5 cable is always my problem.

i see it all the time, run the ia @ under .5 then see yada yada ya. give it a rest.

.5 for .5 seems like the orion will take it unstrapped.

for daily the orion seems like the better option.

for comps where you have the voltage and can drop .25 and lower go ia, but how many plan to do the necessay things to keep an ia happy down there daily?

how many people run there subs DAILY under .5 not many hell i would do .35 daily on the orion, at least i am not scared to test limits ( i don't compete, just appreciate music)

so the next test should be .35 vs .35 since it is the next debate.

hell i would run mine at .35 if my coils were configured like that

but to each there own to badass amps there... that is just my .02 cents:)
