Orion 2500D ?SSF?

Hey guys, I am in the process of purchasing my system. I got my 9815 and my 15" XXX. I'm having my box built ( 4cuft 30hz) as we speak. I am lookign at the Orion 2500D but I didnt notice that it didnt have a SSF. Since I am putting this with a ported box what should I do??? Will it be ok??? Does the high-pass crossover act as a SSF???? Help me I am sooo confused!

To be honest I dont even worry about a SSF. I have a 12" DP with a Hifonics BX1000D and I keep the SSF turned all the way down to 15 hz as low as it will go. Unless your box is tuned really high (above 35 hz) for something like competition then I wouldnt worry about it. Most music doesnt go below 35 hz so you dont have to worry about it to much I dont think.

the 2500d DOES have a SSF ......hope that helps.

I believe its part of the crossover dial, not sure, have to check mine again

I'm not trying to be mean, but comparing a Hifonics to an Orian 2500D is like comparing a 5.0 liter mustang to a V12 Ferrari. If the 2500 doesn't have a SSF and you go below port tuning, unless you are running MT's or a Solo X you may just launch your sub.

Yea but what im saying is, I highly doubt he will ever play anything that will play under 30 hz. The lowest playing song I know of is Get Low on the Kings of Crunk cd by Lil Jon. That still doesnt go below the tuning of my box, which is 35 hz.

Agreed, but I like to live by "better safe than sorry".
