Orion 2500d or Viper 2500.1

Well, i've heard they are comparable...and i know people stand by their rorion equipment. I also just read that a long time orion user would choose the 2500.1 over the 2500d anyday. So, gimme some feedback...legit! Please experienced people, or those who site an experienced source. Thank you, peace

If you surf through DEI's website, they dont even offer Viper Audio products anymore- But Viper also had a 1200.1 and a 600.1 (I believe, 1200.1 for sure)- same mono amp lineup as OrRION- like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if these amps were nothing short of identical and theres some hillbilly crossbreeding goin on over at Directed to get more buyers......

Is that what happened? I cant comment on the orion but i have a 1200.1 viper and its a hell of an amp not a single issue yet. ( except when i accidentally wired to .5 ohm or somthing way under 1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif ) but it just went into protection.

pretty shitty then that they squashed the viper line i wanted a multi channel for my new components. ebay here i come

no doubt they're good amps, DEI is a solid company to deal with as well- but i'f you want to complement your 1200.1 to a matching 4ch, ebay and dealers with overhead may be your answer- I'm sure they haven't disappeared completly- heck I just helped install a set of Viper components less than two weeks ago that came from DEI distributors ......

Noticed tho that Directed has a Tripath powered 1200.1 as well in its lineup- hell buying Orion must have been the best thing that ever happened to them

yea i actually picked up my 1200.1 for like 220 on ebay, its a refurb from an authorized retailer out of southern cali i believe. good experience and great amp, for a price i couldnt beat i think

I know that guy. I saw his stuff on ebay. How does his stuff look like. I wanted an amp for my speakers and saw his 400.2 amp. Does the amps look new or are they all scratched and stuff.

Amplifier design is not my forte.......but I think they could still use the same boards just with slightly different components on the output stage. Ofcourse, I could also be an idiot............

Yes, as well as PPI and a/d/s........and IMO all three of those brands were way, way better before they got bought out................

i would say go with whatever one looks better to u, honestly. if u dont hear much about the orion then go for viper, i can tell u mine is one hell of an amplifier. the controls are awesome too.
