Alright so I have a competition tomorrow and a friend of mine let me borrow his 2500D to power my 2 DD1508's. In my car, I have an optima yellow top, big 3, and 0ga power to a distro block that splits into 2 4ga (one of which goes to my orion).
I hooked everything up together and started tuning the amp when I noticed a few problems. First, I have to set the gain abnormally high, close to its maximum, just to get them to a decent volume. Second, when a CD is loading, I can hear random low frequencies playing softly and then once the CD starts playing, they go away. Lastly, I always hear a pop sound when I turn off my deck.
I'm pretty sure my wiring is messed up somewhere... maybe mismatched impedances, loose ground, reversed polarity, or are all I can think of. Maybe it could be beyond that? I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, as far as fixing these problems are concerned.
