I was looking at the SD store, and it says that a 200 amp fuse box was required. Is this really necessary? I have one that is coming in today, and I would like to install it asap, but in the correct conditions. Any help would be great.

it's always smart to fuse a power wire.....incase something goes bang....it gives you a better chance of that 'bang' only making it to that fuse and not the amp itself saving you worries and anger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I use a fuse, but its only an 80 amp. Do I really need to upgrade to a circuit breaker? I have a 250 I think.

hook it up.. if the 80amp pops then you need somthing bigger.

power divided by voltage will tell you your current or amperage. in other words if you have a 1200 watt amp and you have a 12v power supply 1200/12= 100 meaning that there should be 100amps of current on that line so a 100 amp fuse is needed so that if the current peaks over that it will blow the fuse and stop current from flowing to any other spots of that circuit.

the fuse will most likey blow i had a 60 amp hooked up to my hk802sx and it melted in like 20 min of play now i got a 140amp circut breaker and no problems

I have an 80 amp fuse right now....I alos have a 250 circuit breaker laying around.
