Will a good condition Orion 2100HCCA amplifier be stable @ .5 ohm Mono?

I have a good charging system so the amplifier will recieve stable power.

I have a 200 Amp Alt.

(2)Interstate 1000 CCA Batteries

60 Farad's of Capacitance (sp?)

What do you guys that HAVE (or had) and USE(d) the 2100HCCA think?

Thanks for your help.

also, that much capacitence is completely unnecessary...

4 farads is perfectly fine, 60 is just absurd :p

i hope you're using caps to stiffen your voltage rails and not to supply extra current...lol

Interesting that you should mention K&B. The owner's name is Sergey? He is on this forum?

I shipped a PPI PC6600 to them at the beginning of last week for repair.

It is a test to see how their work quality comes out.

I have about 30-40 amplifiers to send them if they do a good job on the PPI.

I work for a company that is selling off all of it's damaged, OOW equipment.

I have Alpines, Xtants, JL Audios,Boston Acoustics and many others that I purchased for pennies on the dollar. I am having them repaired and then I will sell them.

I sent them an email on my amp 5 days ago and so far no answer. I am interested to see how good of a job they do.

Back to the 2100HCCA. I think it will be fine but was curious as to what others would think.

I KNOW that is an outrageous amount of caps but why not have it if you can. It can't hurt anything...plus it gives the amps a large close power supply.

Orion amps are demanding and I am running three of them.

I have an NT100, NT200 and the 2100HCCA. I don't want ANY dimming or dips in power.

I had an orion 2100 hcca pushing 3 orion 15" xtr3 dvc wired in parallel to create a .67 ohm and it worked fine. I had a 140 amp alternator and 2 optima batteries. I never had a problem with it and it still works fine to this day. I think this amp was one of the best built, I have had mine for well over 7 years and it is still as strong as the day I got it.
