orion 15" h2 help

OK, I have bought a 15" orion h2 dual voice coils, it's said to be 2000 watts rms. My first question would be, do you think I will be needing a second battery, capacitor, new alternator/rewired...?? Second, I am a little lost on what amp to be getting. I am looking to hopfully by somthing for under $350.00 off ebay, that will put out between 2000 to 1500 watts @ 2 ohms rms.

Like SBLAZER said anything for the electrical helps, but I'd start with the big 3, then a new alternator with 160a at least, optima yellow top or odessey battery if yours is getting old. Many people report good results from a new battery, but I never noticed when I got my redtop and the old batery was a good 6 years old and cheap. 1/0 gauge wire for the big 3 would give you plenty of room for current to flow, but 2 gauge is fine as well. a second battery isnt useful unless you're listening to music a lot with the car off and a cap well... there's plenty of debate of whether they are helpful. I wouldn't bother.

not sure what big 3 means............................
the big 3 is the term for upgrading the factory wire from the...

1) Battery negative to chassis

2) Alternator to battery positive

and

3) Chassis to engine

you replace the stock wire with most often 0/1 gauge wire.

i hope you realize that the H2 is an even more power hungry beast than the MOFO. Be wise in choosing an amp. And i don;t really think an amp that will meet your subs specs would be cheap, talk to monte about the amps he can get you for really good prices.

I know this may seem stupid to you, and at one point I new this information, but its been 3 years since I have been around car audio, but how do you know what your sub can be wires to or can any sub be wired any way.

go into the electrical section or amp section I think it is, in the top there is a thread that is sticky that tells the wire config for subs etc. So yours is a dual 2 so you can go 1 or 4ohm if you had 2 of them you can go 0.5, 2. or 8 ohms. but you right now can only run 1or4

I herd bad things about hifonics though, like the real rms islike 200 less. what do you compare ito on a scale of 1-10 10 being the best towards an orion amp.

I have never heard or used a hifonics. I know some people that have them, and they say there great for the price. But thats about all that I have heard. I have used orions. Also have one running now. I prefer us amps for the most part. But that is just me.
