orion 1200d vs. hcca-d2400

Did some research and didn't really get any concrete review between the two. I know one is after the DEI buyout and one is before that. So which is better? Both are refurbs btw.

this is what i'm thinking but it's hard to find an A/B amp that matches that 1200d for a good price

I'd go with the 1200d. Had a few of the 2500ds and they were solid as hell plus they looked so good in chrome

I still have both my 2500D's and they are grrrrrrrrrrrreat!!!! i have had a couple of the xtr and hcca amps in the past as well BUt i'd stick with the orion. just my 2 cents though. it's still hard to beat the old hcca's IMO

I just got a refurb d2400 for $176 shipped. I have been out of the car audio scene for a long time so can't tell you anything on the 1200. However I just finished my install last night and the D2400 took a hell of a beating and it seemed to love it.

i've heard of reliability problems, not 100% sure on that though. That's why i made this thread

I thought it was phuct to begin with. I spent hours doing everything the right way for once. Powered up fine but no sound.

Ended up being a bad rca.

I had (2) Orion 1200ds one purchased brand new, the other bought on this forum.
