Orion 1200d @ .5 ohms..

Ive done numerous searches but can seem to find the answer. I was just wondering if anyone had ever attempted this. I know that the 2500d can handle .5 ohms all day but ive never heard of the 1200d doing this. I would appreciate any info on this.

1200d is happy @ 0.5 as long as supply is 13.5 and up in my usage.

get on termpro and contact hccafan, he ran 16 (IIRC) 1200d's strapped.

As for Shane, ive already talked to him and he just told me "probably" as hes never tried it before.

Thanks id appreciate it. Ive been told by several others that it should be fine. But one told me its picky at .5 ohms. Not sure if he was talking about voltage, gain,...????

oh I know its stable at a 1/2 daily. i did an install a few months ago for my fave bartender. (3) 2ohm visoniks paralleled to .6ohm. HU has 4v outputs. no problems.

I would imagine the 1200 puts out somethinglike the d1200.1's strapped, around 2500wrms @ 2ohms. When they are strapped they dont really like to be dropped below 2ohms though. Sorry for the confusion, i meant to say that id be running the dual 1200ds @ 2ohms not .5..my bad. I would only need to run the single 1200d in .5 ohms cuz at 2 it only puts out around 800.

i ran four 1200d's, two pairs strapped, and they were @ 1 ohm strapped (one dual 2 on each set), and I was burping down into the high 10v... sometimes I had to quickly roll up the volume instead of burp b/c of protect, but I street beat the living dog shiit out of those amps @ .5 ohm each well below 12v and no problems.
