Well I just ordered my e12k.44. Unfortunately the DVC one is out of stock though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I have to wait 1-2 weeks for it to be shipped out. While I wait, I had a few questions. I was planning on using a fairly small sealed box, maybe 1.0c.f. But I've been thinking of going with a vented, like 1.9c.f. What boxes does this sub sound best in? I definitely want it to be loud, but tight is nice too. Also, I can give it 300rms @ 4ohms or I can give it 420rms @ 2ohms and turn down the gain. I know I should just go with the 300 but I do want alot out of this sub. Now will it be loud with the 300 or do I need to push it more?

Ok, doing some searching I have some concerns. I always thought that running subs you should use a mono amp if you can. Now I ordered (1) DVC 4 ohm sub and am seeing that I can't wire it to see a 4ohm load from a mono amp. Is this right? Does this mean I should just get the SVC option(which will actually help alot since that one is in stock).?

stick with the dual 4 ohm version and wire it to 2 ohms and out 420 watts to it. i believe them subs are good to 500 watts rms but i'm not 100% sure. check into ed's b series if it isn't to late. the b2 goes for $140 shipped and can take up to 800 watts rms and is dual 2 ohm. personally i like sealed boxes. it's up to you to decide what box to use.

Well I talked to them and they said it is good for 350rms and 650max. If I went with the SVC sub and the amp I want (300rmsx1 @4ohms, 420rmsx1 @2ohms) could I still have the option of giving the sub the 420 @2ohms?

you wouldn't have the option of 420x1 @ 2 ohms if it's single 4 ohm. when it's a single 4 ohm voice coil it is gonna be 4 ohms unless you add another sub then you can drop it down to 2 ohms.

if you have a single voic coil sub alone you can only wire it the that impedance. If you got a single 2 ohm it would use the 2 ohm load from the amp. vise versa with the single 4 ohm, you would pull the 2 ohm load.

Well I see 2 options then:

1) Get the DVC sub and run 420rms @ 2ohms to the 350rms sub and turn down the amp some.

2) Get the SVC sub and run 300rms @ 4ohms to the sub.

Which would be better?

Get dvc, you will not need to turn the gains down. That sub can take 420 watts, don't worry about it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Stay away from the svc.go dual.more options should u decide to upgrade. How r these speakers(they get loud),or should i say what would u compare them to?

i have the dvc one w/ alpine mrd-m500 amp in parallel. 500 watts at 2 ohms. runs fine. had it in for a month now. gain is half way on amp. 1cu foot sealed box. sounds clean, i just need dynamat. trunk rattles like a mofo.

Alright I'm going to stick with the DVC and give it the 420rms. Now when you say see how it sounds, how is that going to tell me if its too much power?

And about the enclosure...does your sealed setup sound real good AND loud? Would you recommend a 1cf sealed or a 1.9 vented? I've been leaning towards the vented just so its louder. Nogo for a bandpass right?
