Optimal Sealed Enclosure for 15" Mag

So I am going to get a 15" Mag and want to know the optimal size SEALED

box to build for my trunk. My MAX dimensions are as follows:

17 1/4 in. high

33 1/2 in. long

18 in. deep

I used the speaker calculator from BCAE that I found on a google search and

it calculates these numbers to 5.844 ft. ^3. Seems high to me, but??? The

smaller the better, yet I want it to hit lows as well as it can without sacraficing

to much. I'm running a Sundown 1500D. Any assistance is much appreciated.

they recommend 2.3-3.0 sealed for the 15"

If I went over 3, do you think it would effect the distortion ratio?

well sealed boxes are very forgiving to space and shape errors/variations. Personally i would not go much more than 3 cf net

Thanks for everything once again Ninja! One more thing that might sound uneducated of me,

but do I need to take into consideration the mounting depth of the speaker: subtract/add to

my overall measurements?

not the mounting depth but the displacement of the sub....meaning the amount of air that is occupied by the sub. I couldn't find the actual number but i just used 0.15 cf...that should be pretty close.....so overall if you wanted 3 ft net , you would make the box 3.15 ft internal
