Optima yellow or red top???

puting the yellow top under the hood voids the warranty, but i wouldn't care. i'd go yellow. i just got a red top. should've gone yellow.

yellow tops have more ah in corresponding models with the red tops. the yellows also have a lower internal resistance.

they're primarily meant as a secondary battery, but i wouldn't hesitate putting it under the hood also. i got a new red top for 60$ or i would have gonje with the yellow top under the hood.

Im still stumped on what to get....its like Optima makes you buy both lol.....Hook amp wire to red voids warranty....Put yellow top under hood voids warranty

Just wondering, why would you think that?

i've had p!ss poor luck with yellow tops.

but i've used my lil HC 800 as an only battery before, running car and system and it's twice the battery my g 34 yellow top will ever be.

What's the difference in yellow tops? I see people talking about G31 and Gwhatever...what does that mean?

Size differences.

Yellowtop for sure out the above mentioned batteries.

be different... get a blue top.

It's deep cycle like the yellow, but mainly intended for marine applications and may cost a little more.

BUT IT'S BLUE!!!

For main battery aplications(underhood) redtops are better. And the warranty is fine as long as you dont use it as a deep cycle battery(i.e. playing system with the car off). The red top actually discharges current faster than the yellows do.
