Optima fried.. What to buy next?

why do people suggest ridiculously priced batteries for people who are not looking to gain .2 db? especially for a main bat? I have never understood this.

If he is replacing an optima I can find Kinetik for about the same price online as I can find optima local. CHEAPEST I can get a group 31 optima is about $289, cheapest yellow top now is $209. i can get optimas cheap thru a guy i know but for some reason i like the Interstate marine battery i got under the hood better. and only $72 for it.

i had to have my optima red top replaced twice... finally when i took it back to sears for the third time they said they weren't carrying optima anymore! They set me up with a Die Hard Platinum and I like it a lot better... I will never use another optima!

i still dont know where this claim of "optima's are made by interstate" came from but it has to be false since the build quality of interstate is just fine.
