There is a local guy on craigslist selling optima blue tops for $40. Can I use these as extra batts for my system in my truck or are they marine only?? Alo can this be used as a starter battery?

I was hoping to buy three of them and run one under the hood and the other two as supplemental batts.

Any advice would be appreciated!

40? Shoot, snatch all of them up if they're less than a few years old. they are good for about fifty ah. Re sell them here!

Amp hour rating. The higher the better. Look at the ah readings vs the prices of leading battery manufacturers, and you will see that those optimas are a steal if they are holding a charge. Ask the seller how they were maintained, though. But at forty bucks, I'd definitely take a chance. See if he'll give a discount on multiples for an even bigger win!

These are good for car audio?? Can I use as a starter battery? Would I be better off with one XS xp3000 or a couple of these? Shoot for $40 I could by 4 of them and still have money leftover. I was told they were a terrible car audio battery due to very poor capacity...

That xs is a hell of a battery, Idk if you should choose the optimas over it. You save a ton of weight going with one, and you'll have a warranty too. But I'd run for bluetops if its only going to be 160. He11 freaking yeah.
