I'm thinking of possibly buying a pair of opti2000d & strapping them at 1ohm. i was wondering would it be alright to hook one up to a switch, so i can turn on the other one when i want to show off?

Like have one that is to the amp remote wire on the deck & then have the other off a switch so i can turn it on or off when i want? would that work?? would it do any harm to the amps.

No that wont work. When you strap amps your making them like one big amp. If you did that either one somthin will blow or you just wont get any sound out at all as if you like didnt hook the negative side of the speaker up.

depending on how it's wired shutting off one amp will either break the power chain and you'll have no bass, or you'll fry one voice coil as the other one isnt being used....

remote knobs are your friend. If for some reason you cannot control the strapped pair with one remote knob from the amps, invest in an external knob that goes inline with the rca's. these are less than $20 and are simply amazing. you can then easily adjust the bass level to whatever teh **** you want whenever the **** you want
