opti2000d problems

Just installed my refurbed lanzar opti2000d and it went into protect as soon as I hook up my battery. Truck isn't on, deck isn't on, nothing. I disconnected the speaker cable and the remote wire from the deck and it still goes into protect as soon as the battery cable is hooked up. Any suggestions or is my amp DOA?

Luckily the amp came with a 3 year warranty, unfortunately that means I have to send it back and wait for another one before I can hear my new system for the first time...

yup, fuses are good, I think I have a good ground, sanded a spot to bare metal on the floor pan of my truck and connected a bolt through the floor pan. My opti 200.2 is grounded at the same spot and it isn't having any problems. Would it be a good test to take the amp up front and run power and ground directly from the battery and see if it still goes into protect?

Btw, the amp goes in to protect even with the speaker wires disconnected. I used a DMM and measured my impedance on my subs at 1.14 so that should hurt the amp.

When the speaker wire was connected it made a good thump through my subs while the truck and head unit were both turned off.
