I don't trust those big far eastern amps period. They're nearly all identical but scaled up or down. That Chinese/Korean class D platform they use is rock solid up to about 2KW then they become prone to random self destruct from my experience. I've learned my lesson and am done buying amps with price per watt being my standard for "quality"

Furthermore, they won't make rated power real world. A local guy replaced his SS 10000D's with AB 500.1's and is doing the same numbers. And soundstream was one of those companies that really went down the toilet after they sold out.... at least by comparison to what they used to make. I've used a few things they put their name on lately and they were about the worst quality garbage I've used since the days of the flea market "Kenford" type brands. They may slap their brand name on something worthwhile, but IMO you start putting your brand name on enough turds and I won't want any part of any of it on general principal.

We used to **** on people who ran power acoustic and somehow when you put a gay *** plastic spider on it it's good? I'm not playing!

With the more reliable stuff out there in the same power/price range the only good reason to buy them would be a sponsorship or a very friendly dealer who would guaranteed back any failure, and even then I'd look elsewhere first.

I've ran two opti 2000D's and the 4000D. Both are great amps, they do not like low voltage and both were not as efficient as the higher end amps. But with battery power they will do a good job.

I thought they where rated at 16v .5ohm?

I have been beating on my Popcorn Sounds 4k (Opti 4601d board)for over a year now and running it at .5 for the last 4-5 months and it has been great is power hungry but it does a nice job running my Zv.3's. SMS and Hispl's both know it. I just bought a DDM3B last night (for a steal at 425) and will be switching to it for a little more power, better efficiency and future strapping needs.
