opinions on SPL audio

well i went shopping for an amp, wont get it until tomorrow. i found a new audio shop and this man is in love with spl audio. he considered an SPL amp, forget the model. but i told him i was looking into hifonics. he said he could get me two hifonics titans, one for each sub. or the spl audio amp. the amp did 1100 @ 4ohms (spl amp).

now ive heard alot of people say SPL sucks. well let me say this... he had 2 12" SPLX subs, ported box he made himself, and 2 of the spl amps he suggested to me (sorry, dont know ANY model names) he was pushing around 2,300 watts. first system ive seen personally, that wasnt at a show, that did hair tricks. i was outside the car, and my shirt was moving from the air. inside the car, everything looked like it was going to fall off from all the vibration. anyway, im babbling... i just want opinions on SPL amps if you have one. had one. or know someone who does. need to decide by tonight what im going to get, so when i wakeup tomorrow i can just go get it without having to do the thinking game.

I know alot of them have the same internals as american bass amps.. which are excellent amps..

nice to know. he said these amps are VERY solid. said he sell me the amp, and build me a box to my subs specs. all for 500.00. think the amp was like 350ish. oh yea your thr guy in orlando i was going to buy the AB amp from lol. u american bass *****!

in the products list, they have two of those SPLW 10's where im getting the amp. the magnet says 1000w rms. and i belive it. he had 2 of those 12's running 2,300 watts all together. never got hot, been running them for about 2 months now. they get low, and LOUD. thinking of trading in my eclipses for 2 of those SPLW 10's

Those 1,000 rms ones look like the ones from Power Akcoustik(SP?). They look like solid subs, Ive actually seen the amps somewhere but I dont remember where.

As audio anonymous mentioned, spl dynamics has some great stuff...the other spl i know of is lower end stuff. i always thought of them to be comparable to Boss. I highly doubt SPL Dynamics would be equivalent to the cost of two hifonics titans, i'd assume it to be much more expensive.
