For an 18" subwoofer (18.25" actually, 16.75" mounting hole), do yall think a double baffle is necessary for a 20"x20" baffle? I feel like even if i did have a double baffle in this situation, there really isnt any room for flex //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

lets here your opinion

Don't think you'll see much flex, seeing that tere will be about an inch on each side of the woofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

If you aren't quadruple baffling, you're not ballin'...

I would say non needed unless you wanna do the flush mount this which as mentioned above is sexy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But come one now your a civil engineer you can figure it out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I doubt it will affect performance, as the driver is 2inch from any side anyway... it's kinda "autobracing" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

true, i guess i could've looked up the structural specs for MDF and calculated all the shear/normal stresses //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I dunno if i know how to convert sub excursion V. wattage into a force load though

I'd still double it up.
yeah the issue isnt a manner of me wanting to or not. I'de rather have double than single any day.

The issue is im trying to fit a large amount of woofage into a small area, where a double baffle would cause some issue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
