Operation : Volfenhag Holocaust

Ok so most of you hate 'hagens. It seems you have your reasons and I beielive most of you. But I wanted to see what their quality is for myself. I am going to be testing their 3 1/2" and 4" speakers. I would like to set something straight here...

Volfenhag: A German Concept is... not a german product.

#1. They are made in china, and formerly had a plant in Japan.

#2. They are designed in the USA (theres a sticker on the back)

The Victims:

3 1/2" volfenhag coaxial speakers rated at 75watts RMS and 300 peak. This seems high for a low quality cheap small speaker.

4" volfenhag coaxial speaker claiming 125 RMS and 350 peak.

The Killer?:

I will be using a Lanzar (not exactly worshipped brand either) vibe 438 1400 Watt amp, rated at 175 watts x 4channels at 4 Ohms.

I do intend to give these little speakers their claimed rms and see how long they hold up. We see plenty of 'hagen sub reviews but little on their speakers. I intend to run one channel to each speaker.

This will be my first system and I got everything at a very low cost. If the volfenhags are as crappy as you guys claim [i am not doubting you] then it wont exactly be a loss.

I have yet to get the amp and 4" speakers in the mail and set up my headunit so there will be a delay before I start.

Have fun with that. They should smell pretty good and the tweeters will probably go first. this, in my humble but acurate opinion is a futile waste of time. cheap speakers with inflated peak and RMS ratings are hardly ever good or worth "testing".

I'm guessing the Volfenhag speakers are REALLY only rated at about 50W RMS and the Lanzar amp puts out at most 75W RMS.

You really think the lanzar only provides about 75 rms AT MOST? Most people think they are accurate or slightly overated. You are saying lanzar is actually inflating the rms outputr by 230%!!? I doubt they would do that. I really expect better....

Im not testing them from a quality stand point really. I wouldnt be one to judge anywho since I dont have much experience. This is simply to lay some proof out about this company.

I actually have a friend who used a volfenhag sub. To acuratly describe the brand I would compare it to Audiobahn. But the build quality was much cheaper. Not much went in to R&D. You could tell the quality just by holding it. Sure it was heavy but so is a rock.

Your test will be on a power stand point only right. Not accuracy or responce of the actual speakers?

Ill be under powering the front speakers while doing that, Its a big mistake to only use two channels right and not the other two on 4 channel right? Again help a newb destroy his shit jk Help me test these speakers without destroying my amp.

Dude if you don't measure the power you are sending them, you can't make an acurate review on power handeling. You could blow them on 10 watts and think they ****, when you were actually clipping them...
