alright so here's the deal, i had a store front business for 2 years before Katrina. I'm getting the itch to do another store front business. the downside for me right now is that I don't have the money to start it. I have talked to some of the people that I use to do business with and they said for me to try to get a government grant or SBA loan but none of them have applied to get either. I want to know has anyone here applied for either and if so what happened?

WHY? right now borrowring money is what this economy needs. A big problem right now is no one is spending. He just needs to secure a good area where he can rely on people to buy car audio stuff even in these "closed walet" times.

The problem right now is that no one is LENDING. Doesn't matter if you want to borrow or not, without perfect credit no one is willing to lend the money.

That is not true

My fathers company got approved for a loan on some equipment last week. We just have to go up and sign the papers

You're the exception, not the rule. On the whole its the lack of available lending that is of the biggest concern to the economy as a whole. That was what the bailout plan was all about.
