sub is a awt12x and im wanting to make a sql enclosuure. i kinda want something different. loud and desent sq and ideas? im going to power it with a brutus bx1500d at 1ohm

well first off your not going to get much sq from it. biuld a 2.5 cube after all displacement tuned to 34 should sound so-so and get loud

new woofer for sure, new amp would help too. ditch the bahn, it may get loud, but it'll probly sound like garbage unless you get everything else 100% perfect in the install.....if you stick wiht that sub do the box mike dressure recommends and it should sound good enough. but if you get a better driver and better amp itll be a night and day differance in quality, and probly spl too....

get yourself an older RE xxx 15 and throw it in 4cubs @28hz off that brutus and itll sound like audio crack. loud, clean, wide range of bass response, and murderous lows....

bassaddict is right but if you dont have the money then biuld the enclosure listed above.it will do until you can replace what you have.

ya thats a detail i forgot to add......if money is an issue (always is for most of us in car audio)...start off by making better enclosure...find someone who kows what thier doing and can help u and itll be about 30 bucks in supplies, and whatever labor for the friend....

enclosure you go in my girls car a 2002 vw jetta dimension roughly 3' across 2' high and 3 1/2' with

2.5cuft @33Hz should yield low end bass 25Hz with some upper bass support 80Hz.

You are going to need a sealed box. A ported enclosure would just get ripped to shreds by that PHAT 2" foam surround and ungodly powerful bolt-tight motor structure.
