We're talking about cars in the $10,000-$15,000 Canadian range ...

In that price range they all pretty well **** anyway. Looks are about the only discriminator, cause you sure aren't getting anything in the way of performance, comfort, or features. At least the gas mileage should be good. No reason to test drive an econobox.
