Only have space for 2 4" peakers

Hi im a newb to ICE, im trying to decide between these speakers JBL GTO428 or JBL GTO429 or these PioneerTS-G1021i 10cm

I don't have the skill to put in an amp just yet.

My head unit is a Kenwood KDC-3057UR

The older model JBL have lower ohm rating of 2 vs newer model which 3 . Which speakers will give better sound and deeper base? Or can you recommend any other 4" speakers that can sound good straight from my headunit? Currently i have some kenwood 120Watt speakers that sound very tinny when turned up.

you need to deaden the doors ,to get better mid bass from after market speakers

I would use the GTO-428 or GTO-429 speakers over that model of Pioneer speaker. Neither of them is going to produce great bass, but I'm more confident in the JBLs.

Thanks trumpet, I know i'm not going to get any heavy bass off the 4's. Can you recommend an easy setup that doesn't require an amp to get decent bass? I've been trying to find 4 inch component speaker set but they seem to be limited. Are focal speakers any good ? was looking at Focal Access 100 CA1?

Are there any mini amps that can go straight from the headunit?

The JBL speakers are designed to get loud off head unit power. They will sound better off an amplifier. The Clarion XC1410 will run at 2 ohms stereo and it can get signal straight from the head unit. CDT Audio has a few 4" component sets ranging from $229US to $699US.

Okay cool had a look at the clarion XC1410 definitely a future purchase. For now though i'll just get the JBL speakers. Shall i go with the newer or older model? The older model GTO428 seems to less ohms 2 vs newer GTO429 of 3 Ohms ? does this mean the older speakers take less power to sound louder? They're both roughly the same price? thanks for your help on this.

The lower ohm rating means at some frequencies they will be a little bit louder than the 3 ohm speakers. For the same price I would get the new model. They probably made other changes.
