Assuming yoru trunk was properly deadened, glassing 1 sub into a single corner of a trunk should not make a difference in sound quality? Correct?
Symetry is nice and attractive, but I don't know if it's worth the extra cash. A single RL-p12 or 2 RL-i8 would be more than able to keep up with a mini horn front stage at my desired listening levels. I just don't know which I want more. (Yes I know the 12 will displace more than the 2 8s, but when would I actually need that extra displacement?)
