one SI MAG 12" vs. two AA Assassin 12"

Two aresenal 12's would have a hard time keeping up with a mag in a proper enclosure with proper power. The aresenal is a great driver for hte price but it wont dance against a driver like the Mag 12, even in pairs.
did you mean assassin? 2 arsenal 12's should easily hold their own against a single Mag.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought he meant to say "'Assassin" (instead of Arsenal) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I haven't heard the Assassin but the Arsenal 12 replaced an Atlas 12 in my system and I couldn't be happier. The Arsenal is in the same 1.2 cube sealed enclosure but it's getting twice the power(600 watts vs 300) that I was throwing at the Atlas.

It has similar SQ but it goes lower and hits MUCH harder. IMO, Chad hit the SQL bullseye with the Arsenals.

What I'm wondering is how are you going to get 800w to both the mag and the assasins. Different amps?
I have a PG x600.1 and it does 800W+ at 1-4 ohms and it'll do 1200W+ @ 2 ohms if I bypass the xe.Load feature.

If I do the single sub setup I think I'd have to try the Arsenal, I just don't have the extra cash and the Mag costs twice as much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The 2 Atlas subs killed the mag SPL wise? What were you putting up for numbers with the 2 12's? Right now people are right around 150db's with a pair of mags. So I am sure people would be around high 140's with a single mag 12.
So just let me know what you were putting up number wise with the Atlast subs. I am very curious, because if 2 Atlast or Assasins can kill the mags in output, a pair must be hitting well in the 150's. And hell, I may even pick some up then:yumyum:

Showrides, I have no idea what I was doing number wise with the two AA's. I dont/didnt have access to a meter, and really have no desire to get metered.

Ok ok, I shouldn't say KILL the Mag, but there was definatley a noticable difference to me, enough to make me think about ditching the Mag and throwing the AA's back in, but I had already sold one:p: . However, like I said, the loudest I have heard the Mag was in a prefab ported box, so Im sure it has a little more in a proper ported box, which I might slap one together sometime soon for the hell of it to see exactley what it can do, Im not expecting a whole lot more though....

But, I prefer a sealed box, and like I said, with my experiences:

2 Atlas's in 1.8ft3 per, off of 600 watts RMS was a pretty good amount louder than my single Mag (Gen 2, I better add if it makes a difference) in a 1.5ft3 box off of 1200wrms. Both sealed boxes.

Mag in a decent prefab ported box=still not as loud to me.

I know this prefab is on the small side, and I assume it is tuned a little high. I just had it lying around from a while back and decided to stick it in, so, like I said before, when I get around to making a proper ported box Im sure it will do a little better. Its in a nice sealed box for now...

But again, sealed, the Mag doesnt have crap on a pair of Atlas's.

Also, in a drop in comparison (same box, sealed 1.5ish cu ft., no adjustment on the amp or HU at all) off of 300 watts, a single Atlas was louder than the Mag. Suprised me too....
