and what is a really good single sub that i can get?

One RE SX 12" with a 2 cu. Ft. box tuned to 32-34Hz. Feed it a good 1000W. It will be plenty loud and sound decent.

i hav never heard of them, sorry this is my first system and im only 17...

My sub/amp budget is $500...and i want an even distribution of bass/loudness...

I really like the sound of the type r and i want a single sub, but i want something better than the type r

just because you havent heard of them doesnt mean they're not good.

in fact, most are much better than the companies you listed.

Are you figuring in the price of electrical upgrades, wiring, etc? maybe even box / install since this is your first system?
