There wasn't much available at the deadline for the bullpen. Detroit and a bunch of other teams were looking for relievers.but it all came apart the offseason
they let Bradford, Oliver and Bannister go
they destroyed the team's chemistry
they re-signed Mota (steroids!) and signed Showenweis (bust!)
during the trade deadline they didnt go after bullpen help...now its biting us in the ***
I really like the Red Sox.....I will be rooting for them in the playoffsgood thing im a Red Sox fan boy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif
yeah he did a good job the first couple years but this last one was a complete bust. The team has a huge payroll and should be contenders just on that. Besides the biggest contributors are Reyes/Wright, homegrown talent our GM had nothing to do with. But moves should have been made to reinforce the pen, not spending millions on Shawn Green, Luis Castillo etc when we already have good young guys to fill those spots.I don't understand blaming Minya. He came in and fixed all of Steve Philips shit and brought the team to contending status.
Dotel...Linebrink..Gagne....CORDERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There wasn't much available at the deadline for the bullpen. Detroit and a bunch of other teams were looking for relievers.
Dombrowski > Minaya
Guillen > Reyes
Granderson > Beltran
Magglio > Mets

Who was available for the pen? I hate it when fans say the team should've went out and got players. I see so many Detroit fans saying they should've got bullpen help. The fact is there are not a lot of good relievers available and the price is too high.yeah he did a good job the first couple years but this last one was a complete bust. Trust me, the Mets weren't the only team asking for Cordero, and Bowden has a history of asking too much for his players. He wanted Humberto Sanchez, Cameron Maybin, and another player for Soriano last year. The Nats didnt like the offer for Cordero....we shouldve went after him hard...especially due to him always shutting us down.
