i dont think this has been done so yeah.

ive been looking around for a cheap john boat , bay boat or skiff but dont know anything about boating. so maybe some 'skippers' will come through and give me some pointers. im sure id have to go to some type of boating school to get the feel of it. i want something i can climb back onto and not flip over if i decide to jump in the water. itll be used for both fishing and chilling on the water so id need some storage/seating space. something i can ride in the bay or a big *** lake, it wont be going out into the open ocean. something around 14-18ft. the smaller the better. storage space is limited. and most of all not ungodly expencive to maintain.

oh , post pics of your boats if you got one.

for bay boats and stuff like that look into blue wave, bay stealth, nitro/tracker, mako...cant think of anymore right now.......

for being cost efficient id personally go with blue wave.....

you dont have to go to boating school, driving a boat is quite easy, you'd get the hang of it in about 10 mins. i dont own one but i've driven plenty. not sure if i'd recomend buying a brand new one or not unless you really want to spend that kind of money. they require very little maintence, just make sure you get a cover for it so when you store it at your house or whatever you have it covered from the elements.

my dad used to have a 19' skeeter with a HUGE honda motor on the back.. i think it said 250 or 350 on the side of the motor? i just know it went from a bass boat to a speed boat with that motor

eventually it fell into disrepair because we never fired it up monthy or however your supposed to do it... so dont forget to turn it on with a bucket of water around the prop. or else the motor gets totally ****ed up and unless your familiar with repairing/rebuilding it costs a grip to fix it

Mike, you've got to be kidding me?! If you don't get a boat that is 2 years old or less, they are amongst the highest maintenance machines you can ever get your hands on. Once you get your first hiccup, its all downhill from there. Parts replacement galore, cylinder decompression, sealing issues, on and on and on...

But despite all the headaches associated with them, boats are fun..

that was my experience with boats... puttin the hose in part of the engine, with a bucket of water under the propeller trying to troubleshoot wtf was wrong with the engine when it went past 1/2 throttle

we eventually gave it away to a charity... some lucky broke sob got a $1000 engine for free ... (complete estimate, but i do know marine engines are very expensive)
