yea i rewired a 94 grand cherokee after it got stuck in a 3ft creek... not a fun task.

if you cant figure it out with a model specific wiring diagram and test light, your best bet is to take it to a local shop and have them peek around.

iis this a GC with the stock amp (infinity gold option i think...)?

 
The dark green and red wire may be the power antenna / amp turnon wire. Many Grand Cherokees have a factory amp. If you aren't getting any sound from your head unit, try connecting 12v to this wire (preferably through a 1amp fuse). If it works, connect the wire to your head unit's amp turn-on wire.
