My house flooded for the second time in 3 months! Landlord was suppose to build concrete barriers to deflect flood waters (flash floods), but instead built up a nice flower bed for his wife. He also built a new awning for the apartments. It really screwed us over this time, because we were down in Texas, for my girlfriend's management training. Had to make an emergency trip back home. I have to find a new place to live within the week, which I went out searching yesterday. I found a decent 3 bed/1 bath. For a little more than I'm paying now, but it's a house, with a yard, garage, and a lot more room. I got insurance last time it happened, and got flood insurance along with it. It's not going to cover a **** thing, because 2 weeks before this last one, they changed the flood plain. No insurance money FTL, no money to move out FTL, no gas money FTL. I have to take out a $2,000 loan from a family member just to survive the next week or 2. Wooo! McCain in '08!

Lower Michigan got hit pretty hard too. The Kalamazoo area had quite a bit of flooding and damage, stupid mother nature. What happened down there was nothing compared to Ike however.

Exactly! It was all Ike's fault...

NO FUK THAT its YOUR fault for living in the shìt areas where these kinda of events can happen....

like people live in like midwest in fuking trailers and houses made of sticks and glue where fuking tornadoes happen every year and destroy a shìt load of them

and what do they do cry n rebuild in the same spot, n then next year get blown the fuk away

why???? same with hurricanes... people in texas seem to get pwned every year but decide w/e

texas could possibly be the worst place to live.. let seee you can have a nice weather winter of 3 months, then from spring to fall you have to worry about, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, heat, speaking spanish, and getting ***** in teh butt

that place = pure fuking fail...

people vs weather

people

they never win, so get the fuk out

lol

in the northern sierra the only thing to worry about is having your pointy *** house being flattened by snow, but that would only happen if u get plowed by an avalanche, and i dont live anywhere near potential avalanches

so u know what

that sucks for u

lol....

I would take your insurance company to court for that shit. And your landlord too. Don't take that in the ***, at least without lube.

Landlord is already suffering, I moved, he can't enter the premises until all my belongings are out. I got 2 months of rent back, and my deposit. The house is already full of mold, and I'm not cleaning it. He locked my cats in a room without food or a litter box, for a day and a half, I ain't cleaning that. I'm calling the health department on him, because he's been a real jackass since he found out I was moving, and has been showing the apartment with all the flooded shit in there, and has been saying I just trashed the place. Hopefully the whole building will be condemned because of black mold. I'm the one that kept it from flooding several other times, even with me having to be up at 8a.m., he never once came down to look/help. I'm waiting for him to have a Sheriff come and tell me I'm ordered to court so I can counter sue. Insurance company is in the right, about not having to pay. They did however pay some, and helped speed up things with FEMA assistance. I won't be using them in my new house, but glad they did pay some.

Gotcha. The original way you typed it just seemed like they gave you the finger with the new plan and said to piss off. Landlord sounds like a POS. Mold is a mother****er, and if it doesn't get condemned, he'll go broke trying to fix it. It took me two days? Of constant dehumidifiers, fans, and scrubbing to remove mold from ~2 inches of water over...70 feet?

He's ****ed.
